Room and Board License/Policies

These policies support the goal of the Residential Services Office at SUNY Cortland, to provide a clean, comfortable, safe, and enriching living environment. Students have a right and a responsibility to be aware of the expectations of the community in which they live.

All incoming freshmen are required to live on campus through their sophomore year for a total of four semesters, except for: veterans, students commuting from home, students 21 years of age, married students, and students with children.

For more information on SUNY Cortland's housing requirement, see the FAQ.
