THE SATURDAY MORNINGS FOR CHILDREN PROGRAM is brought to you by the SUNY Cortland Department of Recreational Sports and the Division of Student Affairs.  It is for the participation of children and grandchildren of SUNY Cortland students, faculty and staff, however, if space permits, we encourage children of community members to also participate.

PURPOSE

The purpose of our Saturday Mornings Program is not to try to develop championship quality athletes but to provide our children with:

  1. A better alternative to Saturday Morning TV syndrome.

  2. The opportunity to have fun in a healthy and safe environment.

  3. The opportunity to develop their physical skills, social skills, and confidence by participating in well-supervised activities with folks the same age.

The instructors are screened, upper-level Physical Education majors with prior teaching and coaching experience and, more importantly, a sincere love and interest in working with children.

FEES

$25.00 for one activity (per child); $20.00 for a second activity; $15.00 for a third activity.  Classes have been scheduled to allow children in the 7-9 and 10-14 age groups to sign up for three activities if they wish.

FACULTY/STAFF PRIORITY

Only the children and grandchildren of SUNY Cortland students, faculty and staff may register through March 15.  Beginning March 18, children of general community members may register, if space remains.
