Why “Financial Advisement”?

| We have recently changed our name from “financial aid” to “financial advisement”. | ||||

Why? Our new name better describes the broader range of services that we provide than the more traditional name of “financial aid”. We have branched out to provide financial information and education beyond the scope of merely helping students pay for tuition and fees. Also, the name “financial aid” sometimes caused higher income families to conclude that our office would not be able to assist them in financial matters. The truth is, we have a wide range of educational financing options available to help all types of families finance a SUNY Cortland education, and that is only part of the financial service and education we can provide. So, please stop in and visit our office. We’ll be glad to see you! |
