Rich-Media Recording

Service Description

Mediasite is a tool for recording and storing rich-media classroom and conference presentations. These presentations can be viewed as an archive via the World Wide Web. Mediasite is frequently used to supplement traditional classes and distance learning applications.  There are currently three spaces that can be scheduled for this service: Sperry rooms 308, 309 and 326.

Using this Service

When planning rich media recording, consider that the person viewing a presentation has access to three forms of content:  video in a small window (including audio); the VGA screen capture in a larger window; and text (announcements, polling, chat, etc.) in a small window. A picture of the layout can be found on this website: http://www.sonicfoundry.com/mediasite/player/. The viewer watches via a web browser and typically can manipulate the size of the various windows.

To find out more or to schedule a Mediasite recording session please contact Video Services at (607) 753-4894.
